Candesartan 是一种选择性 AT1（血管紧张素 II 受体 1）拮抗剂。血管紧张素受体的拮抗作用抑制血管收缩和醛固酮的产生，导致血浆中水和钠浓度的降低。在动物模型中表现出抗高血压作用。用于治疗充血性心力衰竭，作为抗高血压药。 Candesartan 不影响细胞活力或增殖，但会增加 KU-19-19 细胞培养基中 VEGF 和 IL-8 的表达。 Candesartan (0.1 nM) 可使血管紧张素 II 的最大收缩反应降低约 50%。
